Dr. Christina Marsack-Topolewski, professor at Eastern Michigan University, who’s research includes the misuse of non-medical prescription opioids, provides a framework to understand the nature and derivation of pain as well as the opioid misuse crisis. Class 1 is an ETHICS training that will provide a look at non-medical opioid misuse, including an overview of trends, and clinical implications for providers. Class 2 brings a special focus to varying understandings of pain, options for assessing pain, and treatment options. Class 2 meets the pain management training requirement for MICHIGAN and meets requirements for Washington DC “Key Public Health Priorities”. Earn up to 6 CE Credits.
