Discover adulthood with Alexis Cate, LCSW, CCTP, CASAC-T! Participants will gain insights into strategies for building life skills designed to equip clients with the personal and social demands of everyday life, address often unrecognized daily stressors stemming from lack of support or resources, as well as the role of news, violence and social climate affecting client function. Directing clinical interventions back to clients’ most pressing needs, Alexis discusses ways to prepare a young adult population for the complexities of adulthood responsibilities in a post-high school world.

 

Alexis Cate, LCSW, CCTP, CASAC-T is a Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional based in New York City. Alexis is currently a Clinical Social Worker with the Project Rising program of the Wellness Center at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, NY. She provides direct clinical care to adolescents and young adults (ages 14-24) combatting comorbid substance use and mental health disorders. Alexis completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Wagner College and went on to earn her Master of Social Work Degree from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She has experience working with all age groups treating a variety of psychosocial concerns including: depression, anxiety, mood dysregulation, substance misuse, trauma, personality disorders, pervasive mental health disorders, suicidality, self-harm, community violence, and domestic/family violence. A compassionate and highly motivated self-starter, Alexis has a strong desire to empower the individuals and families with whom she works. She believes in the importance of holistic health, highlighting the mind-body connection, the practice of mindfulness, and enhancing clinical care by comprehensively understanding each client’s unique clinical needs within and outside the therapeutic experience.
