Class 1 – 10:00am-1:00pm (3 CEUs)

Tools for Supervisory Effectiveness

Although the job of a supervisor is to teach and create an empathetic atmosphere for our supervisees we also expect them to do their job. Do you spend 80% of your time on 20% of the people you supervise? This workshop will give you some basic tools to help you work more effectively as a supervisor.  This training will review the process of creating  SMART goals to help keep both yourself and your supervisees on track. Learn the basics of the DISC – a behavioral assessment that will help your unit work together as a team.  Participants will have the opportunity to bring the challenges they face as supervisors and to get feedback from the trainer and peer group. (Trainer, Rebecca Ashery PhD, LCSW-C, Leader-Manager Coach)

Class 2 – 1:45pm-4:45pm (3 CEUs- Ethics)

Supervisors Behaving Badly! Ethics in Supervision

Not you of course! But some supervisors do behave badly and exhibit unethical behavior. Organizations can also get caught up in the muck and engage in unethical practices. This workshop will examine some common pitfalls, and our responsibility in dealing with them. The workshop will also review relevant sections of the new NASW code and the Maryland code of ethics.  Come prepared to discuss ethical issues that you have confronted in the workplace.  (Trainer, Rebecca Ashery PhD, LCSW-C, Leader-Manager Coach)
