Geared towards the newer supervisor
Class 1 – 10:15am-1:15pm (3 CEUs – Supervision)
Social Work supervisors need to wear many hats. They must be empathetic mentors, administrators, organizational leaders and uphold a code of ethics. If you are a new supervisor or contemplating becoming a supervisor this workshop is for you. The workshop will address the essentials for new supervisors. Steps to help you become a savvy supervisor and pitfalls to avoid will be presented. There will be a special focus on having difficult conversations with your supervisees. Learn to work through challenges such as failure to meet goals, poor performance and confronting transference and counter transference. (Trainer, Rebecca Ashery PhD, LCSW-C, Leader-Manager Coach)
Growing Your Supervision Skills!
Geared toward the more experienced supervisor
Class 2 – 2:00pm – 5:00pm (3 CEUs – Supervision)
Although the job of a supervisor is to teach and create an empathetic atmosphere for our supervisees, we also expect them to do their job. Do you spend 80% of your time on 20% of the people you supervise? In an effort to understand their supervisees, many supervisors have wallowed in the alphabet soup of the Myers-Briggs. But who can remember all those letters? This workshop will teach you about the DISC! The easy to learn D-I-S-C focuses on behavior rather than personality styles. Learn how to use the DISC to help form a functional staff team and avoid team dysfunctions. The secret to conducting productive meetings will also be addressed.(Trainer, Rebecca Ashery PhD, LCSW-C, Leader-Manager Coach)
