We invite you to join Clem L. Richardson MS, LPC, CSAC, MAC. LPC-IT for an eye-opening session as we explore the important, yet often overlooked mental health implications of historical and generational features in the lives of our clients. Participants will gain enhanced insight around a historical-generational perspective and its contributory factors surrounding drug use and mental health diagnosis. This course will also identify methods of engaging youth and adults in group exercises as well as utilizing open ended questions to help clients conceptualize the context of related emotional factors and behaviors, draw upon basic knowledge surrounding cultural relevance, including ways to learn from clients and assist through encouraging hope and purpose utilizing a strengths-based model.

 

Clem L Richardson is a Mental Health and Substance Abuse Therapist he earned his undergraduate degree in Human Services from Upper Iowa University in 2004 in 2006 he earned an Associate Degree in Theology from Grace Theological Seminary and he has a Graduate degree from Concordia University (Mequon Campus) as a Professional Counselor in 2008. Although, he is scheduled to take his NCE exam to become a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC-IT) in 2022. He was recently awarded his National Certification Commission for Addiction Professionals (NCCAP) as a Master Addiction Counselor (MAC). He has been counseling people with addictions for more than twenty years and he is trained in many different cultural therapy styles and uses various counseling techniques that meet the needs of the individual. Clem has lived experience with drugs, gangs and addictions he completed inpatient treatment 21 years ago he has never looked back only to empower others.
Also, he is certified as a Clinical Substance Counselor (CSAC). Mr. Richardson has been employed for the past 7 years at the Joshua Glover Center through Wisconsin Community Services (WCS) working with returning citizens from State/Federal prison. As a Clinical Substance Abuse Counselor, where he counsels men. He also is on the teaching staff at Milwaukee Area Technical College, (MATC) downtown campus, where he instructs Group Counseling Skills to students. Mr. Richardson also facilitates classes at Project Return, a prison re-entry support group program for men for the last 18years. He provides mentoring and coaching to those that want the help.

Clem is the CEO and Founder of “Manna Behavioral Services” He provides workshops, group facilitation, prevention education for youth, Alternative Schools, church groups, Community correctional programs. Also, he facilitates men’s issues with collaborative partners “All of Us” organization providing “Stress and Mental” education and health literacy for youth and men.

He is a recipient of many prestigious awards including the Outstanding Leadership,2001 Certificate of Appreciation Prison –Reentry Department of Corrections (DOC), 2009 Community Impact Award Rising Star 2009, and the Parent with the most Commitment award in 2006, In 2018 Clem received the “Black Excellence Awards” by the Milwaukee Times just to name a few.

He is a committed community volunteer with numerous non-profit and advocacy organizations. He serves and teaches on the Board of Directors of a faith base organization “Hope Through Restoration “an after-school program and supportive housing for youth from ages 13-24 teaching life skills.

Clem is also the Pastor of “Kingdom Empowered Ministries” where he serves along with his wife in various capacities of ministry. He has five adult children and seven grandchildren. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, weight training, traveling and spending time with his family.

Organizations, not individual courses, are approved as ACE providers. State and provincial regulatory boards have the final authority to determine whether an individual course may be accepted for continuing education credit. CE You LLC maintains responsibility for this course. ACE provider approval period 3/27/2021 – 3/27/2024. Social workers completing this course receive 2 continuing education credits.
